Fly on the wall

This was the first insect I've seen this year. Looks like a muscid fly, and it was on the wall of the old barn.

In reply to "Guest", this is all good news! The warm temps will draw out insects, but the cold ones of today will drive them back into hiding again. But warmer weather is predicted so we should see lots more over the weekend.

More insects: Diane saw a moth outside the window during our February meeting, and I saw 4 species of beetles and a water backswimmer in the pond on the weekend.
