This bird was initially seen from the fork at Crescent Beach looking southwest; it was at a long distance flying northeast over the far end of Saquish. I drove down the Saquish back road to see if I could locate it on the Saquish peninsula but with no luck. As I turned to return, I scanned the trees across the water on Clark's Island and found it up in a tree with three crows perched nearby. The eagle was positioned so that I could see no white for quite some time as it appeared to be head-down eating. Eventually it shifted position and stopped eating so that I could see white on the head and tail and confirm that it was an adult bird. This photo, taken at 400mm with maximum subsequent enlargement, shows bird after it moved to face me revealing the white head as well as beak and leg color.
