On a serene December evening close to low tide I headed out to Castle Stalker with a small group of photographers. Earlier we were treated to some of the finest sunset light streaming in on the flanks of the castle and soon after it set we all galloped around to the other side to shoot towards the setting sun. I was aware of a set of launch rails that formed glinting lead lines into the reflective waters and positioned these as accurately as possible so that Castle Stalker appeared silhouetted at the end. Delicious violet and banana coloured skys provided a perfect backdrop for a fine end to the day.
