A tragic beginning Laine. That was 1860. The ketch trade on the gulf was at it's peak shipping wattle bark, livestock and wheat to Adelaide. In 1900 a storm wrecked the jetty and 112 years later, this is what remains. http://www.postcards.sa.com.au/features/myponga.html

I can't resist the history...sadly a woman and baby fell onto the rocks on the day of it's opening. The woman died but the baby cushioned by her body survived.
