20120123_21318 Well, That Answers That Question... (Mon 23 Jan)

At Home, Sydney, NSW

I was idly wondering to myself last week... "Christmas is over, New Year is over... I wonder how long it'll be before we see the first Easter eggs or Easter bunnies in the stores?"

I found out yesterday when I saw this at the check-out of the local supermarket.

Good Friday is 6 April this year, or day 96 of 2012. Yesterday was day 22. Which makes this, at 74 days to launch, far and away the earliest Easter selling opportunity that I've come across. To date, that is.

One of the nice things about chocolate sculptures is that you can get such different effects by simply moving the light around them, as I did with this one. However only one can be a PAD, and this is it.

I'm mostly off the chocolates at the moment until I get a couple of centimetres off my waistline, but I have to admit that I disposed of this one in the appropriate fashion.

After all, one must occasionally put one's personal feelings aside, and be prepared to suffer for art's sake.

I always eat the ears first. :) Nice yummy photo of this early chocolate treat. Of course, you had to eat it. It would never keep until Easter.

Great lighting, even has separation from the background. We actually saw Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs out at the store last night! We were able to avoid the temptation even though they were buy one get one free! (I can devour those things)

Awww how could you eat that cute little bunny?! ;) Yes it is far too early to be seeing Easter eggs and gifts in the shops, but then you wouldn't have had this little chap to photograph.
