Hello 2012

Celebrating New Yearís isnít a big deal to me. It is just another day. Usually I am sound asleep long before the stroke of midnight. Last year we actually went to a party with the kids and the following day I felt like I had a hangover despite the fact that I havenít had a drink since 2005.

This year was very low key. We let the kids stay up as long as they wanted, which ended up being 9:30pm. Kim and I then went to bed promptly at 10pm. Thankfully our feet didnít hit the floor until after 8am. Very nice.

This yearís Photo a Day will be a combination of PaD and Photo a Day while Underway because there is a deployment in my near future. Very near. This will be the final deployment for USS Enterprise before decommissioning. Well at least that is the plan. Dependent on what else is going on in the world of course. Iran. China. North Korea. So many options. The other morning at Quarters our Division Officer gave us a little pep talk to get us in the mindset for the upcoming deployment. To sum it up: We are going to war and some of us are going to die. Great motivational speech sir.

As I said previously, I will make 2012 a better year. I have three great kids and a wonderful wife so I am off to a great start. Letís see if we can post more photos than last yearís 101 count.

Buwahahahahaha!!! Did someone hack Larkin's account to post that?

Best of luck on the upcoming deployment. I did send the CIC a memo calling off all wars. I'm sure he's looking it over as I type this.

Not a drink since 2005? You're a better man than me.
