There is no question that Kamikochi deserves to be called the "Valley of the Butterflies". Not that I had a very long range nor fast camera to capture this shot, the butterlies in Kamikochi happened to be in a static stage a lot, feasting themselves happily on the flowers and does not seem to be stirred a bit by human activities - I was pointing my camera only a feet from them. How lovely they are, free and easy in their pretty coats, dashing from one flower bed to another! They live for one summer, then they are gone! Perhaps they do have many lives and will come back next summer wearing a brand new colored jacket!
