Temple of Jupiter

Temple of Jupiter

Jupiter was the Thunderer. When the Romans left the Goths did not change the dedication, but used the name of their own God of Lightning, Donner.

The mountain is still called the Donon. It's almost 1000 metres high, and a good target for lightning.
