Kennet and Avon Canal

The sun was burning off the early morning mist, and is reflected in the canal. The canal was built in the late 19th century and gave a passage between the River Avon at Bristol to the River Thames at Reading. Nowadays it is used mainly for recreation.

Woops, I guess that's probably the bow.

So very peaceful. Looks like a fishing pole extending off the stern into the canal???

A beautifully tranquil scene Tony; the swan is truly the icing on the cake.

Big and small, strong and weak, nature and man-made.. Great photo Tony!

The boat is a canal narrow boat built to transport goods along the canal. These days most have been restored as liveaboards for recreation, although some people live on them permanently.

Marvelous atmospheric photo... you got the swan to swim into it just right.

It would be interesting to know something about that boat. Is it a live-aboard or recreational craft of some kind? I've never seen anything like it.
