Shooting for the film 'Good Vibrations' about Belfast's Godfather of punk, Terri Hooley, has started in Dundalk.
This street was chosen as a stand-in for 1970s Belfast as many of the northern city's old terraced streets have gone.
Lots of other things have changed about Belfast in the intervening years - the Troubles are something that today's
teenagers read about in the history books, rap has replaced punk as protest music, and record stores are almost
a thing of the past.
The film stars Richard Dormer as Terri, whose record store 'Good Vibrations' became a mecca for Belfast's disaffected punk kids, and
supposedly Dylan Moran, Adrian Dunbar and Liam Cunningham. At one stage Michael Fassbender was supposed to taking part but unfortunately that dosen't seem to be the case.
There was no one around that could fill me in when I walked by today on my way to take my son home from school but I'l make a few phone calls with my reporter's hat on tomorrow.
