IMG_4976 Good morning

8 inches of rain so far and counting

It was a rough night.

I stayed up watching the news and the reports of possible tornado alert,
high winds and the pounding rain.
(Relieved to know our tall pine trees didn't fall on the house)

I think I fell asleep about 1pm.
At one part of the night, I didn't hear the wind and pounding rain so that my cue
to fall asleep.
The kids slept downstairs and I slept upstairs.
Later hubby came upstairs, beds are more comfortable than a lazyboy.

I woke up to take Cocoa outside and feed the cats.
I can see the stream down the road is overflowed
and did hear there is a lot of flooding and bridges/roads are out.
I didn't go down to the basement, we have a wet basement anyways.
(I do see our sweet corn got blown down)

We got about 8" of rain in the gallon bucket.
and thankful our electric is still on for now.

More rain to fall all day, it might stop around 6pm or earlier.
I do know lots are out without their electric and not as fortunate.

Earlier I had watched 'Amish Grace'
Thank you God for your grace.

That is one lot of rain. So pleased that your story has a happy ending. Flooding can be difficult but no major catastrophe. Sorry about the corn.

Our rain gauge overflowed its capacity at 5", so I have no idea how much rain we got in my neck 'o the woods. Still windy and raining here as well! Our blooming mammoth sunflowers are history....
