Me and Brad Paisley!

O2 Arena, North Greenwich, London

Yesterday Carole and I, (accompanied my our older son, Matt, and his wife, Naomi), travelled up to London to see Brad Paisley at the O2 Arena.
*
I was wearing the Brad Paisley 'local crew' t-shirt that my younger son in Canada had given me and just after stepping in through the main entrance a man stopped me and asked me where I got the shirt. I told him the story and then asked him if he knew Brad Paisley. (He seemed to be wearing a special 'access all areas' tag.) He replied, "Yes. He's my son."! I thought, 'How amazing! I've just got here and I'm chatting with Brad Paisley's dad!' He was really nice and we talked for a few minutes about his son.
*
A little while later we decided to kill a bit of time by walking down to the pier from which the Thames river launches leave. As we got nearer to the entrance we saw a group of guys, one of whom looked rather familiar. "Is that Brad?", asked my son. I said, "Yes, that's the man!" So then we just walked up and I said, "I've just met your dad!" So we had a great talk with this Country Music legend and a few photos were taken ~ though, sadly, not with a DSLR! (And, do you know what? No-one else came by the whole time we were there!)

Oh, and by the way, the concert was amazing! Brad Paisley is the most phenomenal country guitarist you're ever likely to see, and his band are awesome! Not only that, but he brought out Ronnie Wood for a blues jam during his encores! And all the time I was watching and cheering I had to remind myself that I'd actually 'met' the guy!

Chris, you really some luck, don't you. It seems that a lot of the country perfomers are very friendly and open to the public. Not so much with the America rock bands. I am glad that you had a good chat with Brad.

Good story Chris. Brad Paisely seems to be a good guy and of course a great singer.
