Day 14 - Casa Larga Vineyards

This building is of great mystery to me and my husband. It's a very impressive and expensive looking structure but it appears to
be only partially finished. Are there supposed to be glass windows in all the openings? The fancy party house is at the top of the hill
(I'm in the middle of the hill taking this photography). I took Day 9 there ( http://www.pbase.com/bdean/image/136281287).
It's been like this for over 4-1/2 years...Currently it appears to be a fancy barn/storage shed...

The building is still here today. I was actually just there last night for a tour of the banquet facility. I have the answer to your mystery!

The original owner of Casa Larga started building it before he passed away and now his family--the current owners--just got a grant to utilize the space as a functioning place. Right now it is just a storage facility for their farm equipment on the lower level there and other items on the top level. The tiles are actually from Italy--one fancy storage facility!

maybe they run out of money or the bank, who knows now nowadays
and indeed it doesn't look neglected (Cindi)

It sounds as if someone is piecing it together from extra materials. Intriguing.

Nice shot of this mysterious building. Looks like it was built to be a residence, but who knows? And it seems to be in very good shape for having been abandoned that long.

Until the economy turns around, it may remain this way for quite a while. It's a beautiful building!

The seem to have boarded the window spaces up. Maybe run out of money...

Perhaps they ran out of money part way through building - we have a house all
boarded up not far from us that intrigues us too.

It's been well kept. Somebody's using it. Great shot...love the composition!

Nicely worked. There must be something going on a building abandoned for 4.5 years usually doesn't look this neat and tidy.

Good shot, I have always wondered about it two and thought it might be a storage place for the wine while it ferments.

they must not be selling enough wine to finish it..good shot Brenda..
