Built between 1865 & 1877, it is arguably the world’s first shopping mall. It consists of two glass-vaulted arcades intersecting at a 33m wide dome. Located in central Milan, it connects the Piazza del Duomo on its south to the Piazza della Scala, which is in the background.
Locals loved it and dubbed it "Il Salotto di Milano" - the living room of Milan.
