This is one of the quieter, out of the way places in Venice with almost no one around.

There were many incongruities in Venice;
all those modern antennas, boats with motors, conduit for power strapped to the brick buildings…
spray painted Grafitti, street lights, metal security bars...
Not all of those (relatively) new things are graceful or beautiful,
but the overall sense of timelessness remains.

The original purpose of Venice as a center of trade
and as the dominant naval force in the Mediterrean has passed too.
Aside from glass blowing as an art form, there is limited industry here
now there is mainly tourism.
