April Challenge: Scavenger - Monument

Erected in 1887 to commemorate four wars. There were 175,000 at the dedication.
My father was born in New Haven in 1908 and told me of
climbing the monument as a child to the observation deck.
Nowadays you can't get any closer than the fence seen in the photo.
