Cindy, I am afraid that there is no technique! The sun was shining thru the willow from almost the opposite side so I directed the lens a little bit downwards which gave me the ground and water as the dark background. Some of the images became too overexposed with the willow very dark ( almost a silhouette ). But I wanted the willow to be as I saw it with the sunlight shining thru it and highlighting it! You have two other images on www.pabse.com/lennart_waara under the gallery Nature.

Lennart, your lighting really highlights the detail on the willow. Very nice macro. Will you please disclose how you lit this photo?...I'd love to know your technique.

The perfect treatment of the low light accentuates the beautiful golden tones… - wonderful detail.

Beautiful soft light and background. The bee is a bonus!

I think Frank said it, Lennart - wonderful detail. I like using
long lenses for macros, myself. I recognize the willow
from your beautiful butterfly image. :)
