A pretty village almost untouched by time. It has just the one short main street with various old properties on either side, running north of the green opposite the church. The cottages are mostly 17th century.
My grandmother on my mothers side was born here, her maiden name was Feast her father was a brick layer who I understand walked 12 miles a day 6 days a week to work and on Sundays went fishing before breakfast in the mill pond. He was a very tall man with a beard down to his chest. I visited 70 years ago with my Mum and Dad and caught a baby rabbit with my bare hands, it got to a wire fence and I caught him, how proud was I ,yes i let him go.What a wonderful place the village is, I remember then the mill pond had a mill shame it's gone now. Ted Martin. We moved to Australia in 1961.
