Blue seems to be today's colour, so it may be that the original and correct colour is red. It would seem an odd mistake to make, especially as officialdom in the town doesn't even seem willing to let folk use modern windows that look the same when renovating. Then again, perhaps they don't know (yet).

Perhaps someone local could enquire at the museum, and clarify?

Provost James McMillan (McKirdy & McMillan,Taxi Hirers and Motor Engineers) lived there.
Dont recall the colour of the Provosts Lamp but it wasnt red!

Should that not be blue. it is in a conservation area, is it not
