I got this Elgato Video Capture a few days ago for converting VHS tapes into mp4 files on your computer.
I've converted one 2 hour movie so far. Set up and use were super easy. Seems like $80 well spent.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 Macro II USM
1/125s f/8.0 at 68.0mm iso400 full exif
