white-bellied antpitta
(Grallaria hypoleuca, ESP: tororoí ventriblanco)

San Isidro, east-slope Andes

Every birder to Ecuador knows the story of Angel Paz.
But there are more people who performe the art of luring antpittas.
On the terrain of Cabanas San Isidro one of the workers, Jose Maria,
calls this antpitta every morning at 7.30 a.m.

After a while, if you are lucky, the bird pops up out of the undergrowth,
eats a few worms and disappears as rapidly as it came.
Prepare your camera by setting a high ISO value en wide aperture,
you will not have much time to adjust it while shooting.

other sizes: small medium original auto
