No, It Does Not Stretch Like Bed-It Tape

This is barely 1/16th of an inch of movement and the factory bedding compound, a polyurethane tube caulk, has already failed. This boat was less than three years old! Food for thought.

Do you know what the difference is between this butyl tape the the butyl tape used in vacuum infusion (like that for boat building)?
Thanks

Andy,

Two very different products. The stuff used for vacuum bagging is, high solvent, gummier and a less stretchy product, It's more like an inexpensive butyl putty sold for RV roofs...

Just bought some butyl tape, then noticed your warning: "Not the kind you get from RV suppliers. Oops." What's the difference and how can I tell? Maybe your sticky/stretchy test?
