WjW Fine Art Photography

As a young man after just entering the military in the early 70’s and traveling overseas
I found that I had a passion for photography and processing black & white prints at the base
darkroom. Cost was not a concern as it would only be .10 cents to process and print a
(36 negative) roll of film and the lab never closed. There were times I would spend the whole
weekend in the lab and process a hundred 8x10’s trying to get that Ansal Adams feel to my photos,
and then just give them away. Thinking, this is what I would like to do in my life if I can
make it possible to provide for my family that I would have someday.

After leaving the military in the mid 70’s I no longer had access to a darkroom or the low cost
of photo processing, I did however convert a walk-in closet into a darkroom. I managed to do a
little bit of paid work with my photography mostly in print restoration and some photo shoots but
not enough to provide for my family and schooling along with working a full time job. As my
career in Manufacturing Engineering started to develop I found myself traveling more and more
across country, sometimes for long periods of time along with working long hours, hours that I
didn’t have for my other passion. As time quickly past so did my passion for photography.

As I entered the digital world of photography and post processing on the computer at the turn
of the century, I found that I was able to take my passion for creative fine art photography to
a new level where ever I would need to travel. The need for a home base chemical lab was no
longer a deterrent for my inner expression of what I wanted to present for all to enjoy. Using
the Pentax digital system I found the joy of using older manual lenses as all of Pentax legacy
lenses of the past 40 years can be used on all their digital SLR’s. Being able to experiment and
drive into and beyond my limits at virtually no cost other then my equipment presented me the
ability to explore and find the feeling that I was once looking for in my photography.

As Ansal Adams once said;
“You don't take a photograph, you make it. - Ansel Adams “

Now I would like to present some of my photographs that I made just for you...
