Since the new stove was facing the dining room and not a wall, the unfinished back would show. We had the counter top guys make a special piece to go behind it. You can still see into the dining room, while cooking on the stove, but the barrier now keeps spattering down.

I got rid of my old stools and bought two new ones from Costco.
