13 octobre - Heart broken...

Wednesday was difficult for me,
not a good day,
for more than one reason...
*
It is in the nature of things to feel very bad
when something terrible happens...
*
I was not on PBase for few days.
(it is the 16th today)
*
I needed to go out and reflect on things.
Walking with no real place to go,
lost some sense of direction,
and being imposed emptiness, even if for a moment, is difficult.
*
When i walked in the hallway of that building
there was this long stripe of red granit on the floor.
(and as you know, my camera is never really far...)
I threw my gloves on the ground and stopped for an instant.
That was just a reaction, feeling totally powerless
at that time.
Deeply saddened.
*
I found out a bit earlier
that the husband of a friend of mine passed away.
Rather shocking.
*
Barbara and Andrew met 4 years ago.
Got married only one year ago.
They were the happiest couple
and they promised each other
they would die one day apart
in their 90's...
She is not 50 yet, he was 54.
*
He is now gone, a case of misdiagnosed cancer...
We learned only last week he had cancer.
Too late for any type of treatment.
*
Even if death is in the nature of things
we can never get use to this.
And it is more upsetting when we know
something could have been done about this.
*
Andrew was healthy, very loving,
good habits of life, decent, kind
and handsome, inside and out
with a beautiful curious mind.
*
He was way too young for this
and now Barbara has to hang on to
the most beautiful memories
of that privileged time shared with Andrew.
She will treasure him forever...
*
This is so final...
***
i will come a little later
to catch up with the comments...
Merci/Thank You

Oh my, a very strong image and I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I will pray for strength and comfort for you and his wife. Life is too short as it can be taken away so quickly. Enjoy and cherish each moment and live life to the fullest. Some things we don't understand why they happen. Take care and know my thoughts and prayers are with you.
