This old camera makes great images. I shot a test roll today (8 on a 120 roll)
and got 8 images, although one is double exposed (and very arty!). I tested
apertures from 8.0 to 128, and speeds 25 50 and 100 as well as B. Everything works.
This image is tilted and a bit off in the composition. The very small prism
is quite hard to compose with, which always was the explanation for missing
heads or feet in old photographs. This is a straight scan at 360dpi.
The image was exposed at 64 for 1/25s with focus set at the 30m-100 feet
click stop. There is no 'infinity' setting, but at 64 or 128, who needs it.
The tree tops are a bit fuzzy, but there was some breeze. There seems
to be only a little distortion. It is a 6x9 negative, so there's plenty of room
to crop the middle out for a nicer view. This was the first exposure on the roll.
Trivia. Imagine, if you will, a very small folding camera, on a very large Linhof tripod.
Slight overkill. And then my Sekonic L-608 Spot Meter is actually bigger than the camera.
I was glad the park was almost deserted !
