Not exactly blues but a contribution to my friend Fay!
An outstanding and remarkable musician and music teacher, affected by the Alzheimer's disease.
Thought about it for a while if I want to share it, but this blues challenge triggered this little project
"Let us pause in life's pleasures and count its many tears,
While we all sup sorrow with the poor;
There's a song that will linger forever in our ears;
Oh Hard times come again no more.
Chorus:
Tis the song, the sigh of the weary,
Hard Times, hard times, come again no more
Many days you have lingered around my cabin door;
Oh hard times come again no more."
Thank you for sharing this touching tribute to Fay. My Bill said this is "hauntingly beautiful", I say her spirit goes on despite her travails with Alzheimers Disease.
Mieke, thank you for sharing this beautiful video of Fay I so enjoyed listening to her singing that lovely song. I realise it was 7 year ago & possibly her Alzheimer's disease has reduced her ability and therefore this is something to be treasured.
My own mother was a singer & she also suffered from Alzheimers Disease...I wish we had video taped her too.
