Tree creeper

Latin name: Certhia familiaris

The treecreeper is small, very active, bird that lives in trees. It has a long, slender, downcurved bill. It is speckly brown above and mainly white below. It breeds in the UK and is resident here. Birds leave their breeding territories in autumn but most range no further than 20 km. Its population is mainly stable.

What they eat: Insects and spiders, and some seeds in winter.

just saw one of these today. have lived in the UK for a year and a half and this is the first one I have seen and no wonder the top of the bird is just like bark and the underneath pure white. was climbing the tree with ease, but stopped when I got too close. very small little bird!
