1917 Steam Belt Tractor

Wisconsin

I saw this beautiful 1917 Minneapolis 16 Ton Steam Belt tractor at the Foot of the Lake re-enactment.
It is a beautiful piece of Americana.

I guess they wouldn't have had to worry about a flat tire on one of these babies, eh? Cool shot, Cindy.

You can never go wrong with red. :-)

I love this old farm stuff! What an amazing piece of work.

what a great old tractor. .. good pov.

Thank you, Michael, Hal, Pete, Terry and Wendy.
The tractor is a beast. It was not started up, but we often see similar "beasts" in parades here. There is a Thrashing event in the late summer that brings out many that are still working.

Pete and Cindi, I really didn't do much post. The Kodak Ektar film deserves the credit. It does have a "look" that digital can't emulate.

Wow that's quite the tractor. Great shot Cindy.
Old machinery like this makes me wonder how
they managed. Modern technology has made things
so much easier in so many way.

I love old machinery, and this a perfect example. Did
you happen to hear it running? Steam engines as so quiet,
a far cry from our modern contraptions :)
Great job on this image, Cindy.

A beast of a machine - was it working?
You have done something that makes it look like a dated photo - good work.
Cindi 16-May-2010 19:40
Like your processing. Very cool machine!

A wonderful photo, Cindy.
This strange contraption looks more like something from the 1800's.
lt's so ugly that it's beautiful. A real treasure.

Nothing like vintage gear to shoot....vintage gear.
Nice image and a fascinating piece of Americana...
