When we first moved here, there was only one old house at the start of the street. That house had been there for quite a while and the man(Joe) that lived there grew peonies. The developer built six new houses on this street and it was quite a shock to the system for Joe. He struggled to adapt to all the new people and traffic. As he got older it was apparent that he couldn't keep up with all of his peony plants and they were slowly going to weed and ruin. One day he went to each of the neighbors and gave us a choice of one of his plants. He died the next year. This is our neighbors peony and it reminds me that even when life changes you have to find a way to change with it. You will see our peony in a week because it is pink and just started to have buds.
