Turquoise Isle

Shieldaig, Torridon, Scotland

Light is everything with landscape photography and this bizarre mix from grey rolling clouds in the background that hang over the Torridon peaks to the blue sky behind me and a great white umbrella of a cloud above the island created a fabulous palette with the island positively glowing out of a turquoise sea. A few minutes later grey cloud enveloped all and the scene completely died and lost all luminosity. It was nearly an hour before it returned and a second opportunity revealed itself.

Mesmerizing. The balance between the water and the sky makes it just perfect. Vote
