These two Scots Pines are quite literally bonded to each other, hence the title, they are quite inseperable and as a result must always be composed as a couple, very romantic. Positioning them so that they are clear of other trees, so that neither branch or any part of the canopy touches another feature in the landscape is to my eyes both necessary and remarkably difficult to organise. At the same time the natural frame between the two trunks is positioned to frame a background peak without cutting through it. I have a policy of not deliberately moving any landscape feature, but if anyone else feels like flattening that clump of brush below the island to the extent that it remains seperate from the mainland , well you won't hear me complain about it.
