November 30th thru December 6th, 2009

This is the main entrance to the East Aurora Union Free School District's Administrative Offices. My father went to high school in this building in 1941 through 1945 (68 - 64 years ago). This building is right on Main Street and North Grove Street in East Aurora, NY. I really like this town/village; it is my home. I am really pleased that I left my home for the adventures and experiences that I've had away from here, but it is so really good to feel like this is home. It's truly much more important than I ever realized.

My mother graduated from East Aurora in 1946. She may have known your father. She had two older brothers who also attended school there. They were Tillou's, from Elma where I grew up, and were related to Lyle Tillou who was a longtime resident of E.A. I have enjoyed your photographs immensely. I'm an Ohioan now, and don't get back very often, so the images are very meaningful and nostalgic for me! In case you ever bike through Elma, the village is very picturesque, and if you hike south along the creek paralleling Chairfactory Rd., there are gorgeous views. We used to play hockey in the winter there when I was a boy!

Back to your roots. I know how that feels. And I'll bet your Dad went to high school with Ellen Ketter's dad (my ex-father-in-law)

Well done Don. I can see why it feels like home, it is such a quaint, cozy town. We really need to get together to shoot sometime.
