Common Toadflax, Linaria vulgaris

A small native of dry, sunny soils with a pretty spire of gold-spotted yellow flowers appearing between June to September. Common Toadflax can be used as a diuretic to treat Edema, where it acts on the liver to increase bile secretions. I photographed this plant in twilight with clear blue skies cooling the background, complementing the warm flowers.
