Wupatki National Monument

Flagstaff, Arizona

There are many settlement sites scattered through the area that were built by the Ancient Pueblo Indians -- Sinagua, Cohonina, and Kayenta Anasazi. Indians began arriving in the area not long after the eruption of Sunset Crater in the 11th century, which improved the soil for agriculture. Primary agricultural products included corn and squash.
