The cityscape of Las Vegas Nevada is a constantly changing one, with any sense of historic value overrun by a desire to build bigger, brighter, "better". This isn't just confined to the Strip either, as the closing and demolition of a local casino/hotel called Castaways will attest. This picture was taken while the hotel was being stripped and prepped for demolition. The big Castaways sign inviting visitors from its perch adjacent to Boulder Highway is reduced to a latticework of steel.
A month later this was all gone. The site sits empty today, whatever plans that were in place for it faded along with many hopes and dreams in today's struggling Las Vegas economy.
