Karen Johnson is Brenda's good friend from the north shore of Lake Tahoe and has been Karen Heacock since her marriage in 1988. The famed Bucket of Blood Saloon is in the background. Virginia City, often mentioned in the Bonanza TV series, is an old mining town going back to the 1860's.
