TiVo DirecTV HD DVR Prototype/Test Mock-Up (rear)

This is obviously some sort of mock-up or prototype because the rear panel is no different than your typical, average, run-of-the-mill Hughes HDVR2.

Canon PowerShot G3
1/5s f/2.0 at 7.2mm (35mm equivalent: 36mm) full exif

other sizes: small medium large

Yes, I know this. What you see in the photo is probably a prototype. More like a mock-up if you ask me. Either way, this is the correct photo for the item TiVo has on display at CES 2003.

This is the exact back of the under $100 hughes directv box available everywhere. Nice machine but no HDTV or dvi or any of that.

Whoops.

Yep, component is what he/she probably meant. Not composite. Either way, that pic was taken in Jan. 2003 and was obviously a mock-up of sorts. I'm hoping that the final version includes DVI out. Stay tuned!

Actually "composite" out is the worst out there. I believe the previous person meant component. Anyway, DVI is better than component out. The single biggest reason DVI is better than component is because the signal stays digital all the way to the HDTV which is the ideal solution.

I was somewhat disappointed that a high end HDTV solution would not have a DVI out. Seems odd.

The composite out is hte best out there...

OK, I am an idiot. I guess that by the color coding, Output 1 is component out, and should be paired with the Dig Audio out. Still, the press releases talk about an HDMI output - is this model just a mockup for the CES?

Am I missing something here? You can record HDTV and ATSC signals, but how do you actually send out to an HD set - the best video output option is S-Video .....
