Life in Death Valley

Well, we left the UK for 7 months of travelling and photography. First up, Death Valley. Wow, what a stunning place. This was taken from the middle of the Mesquite dunes with a telephoto lens (to compress the perspective of the mountains a few miles away). Warm dawn light is a fairly commom thing around here, so all it needed was to find an interesting composition. These coyote tracks finished the scene off nicely to show that Death Valley is actually full of life.

ISO 400 handheld. No filters, no photoshop.
