NGC 5023

NGC 5023, Flat Galaxy, type Scd, in Canes Venatici. Taken on the nights of May 9 and May 12, 2007,
with a DSI Pro II and Outback Cooler on a C8NGT (8" Newtonian f5). All subframes were 180 sec.
The RGB subframes were also used to make synthetic L subframes (sL) , which were then used in the
stack of images to create the final L image. The resulting total exposures in minutes were
(L+sL):R:G:B = (72+60):63:60:63. Color balance was achieved via numerically scaled channels.
Captured with Envisage, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with other processing using FITZ,
PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
