The patterns created by strawbales dotted over freshly cut stubble are a favourite with photographers the graphic shapes and uncluttered scene makes for simple strong pictures. The problem is everyone does it. I found this marvellous sloping field which created some visual depth and noted that it faced the setting sun. The extraordinarily long exposure of nearly six minutes ensured that the windblown clouds duly moved across the sunset sky creating a most attractive shifting wave pattern. Hopefully it offers an unfamiliar alternative to the standard view.
