My guess is the image/file was saved in a non-standard format.

Typo error - 'LAB Colour' mode.

Sounds like you may have converted your image to 'LAB Coloour' mode, done your work
on the channels then saved the image without converting back to RGB.
Do you see the saved file thumbnail in your folder ?
This has happened to me before. You can open it again if you still have it in your recent file. Go to- File > open recent. It might still be there in your recent 10 images.

May be your folder's attribute is hidden, check it by right click on folder's name, then clicking on propertie.

Enny, save your picture under another name in a folder named "Pbase" for example and when you close your picture after and Photoshop asks if you want to save it, say no.

Have you tried to go to start and search then search for the file name? Sometimes I've done that and found it someplace other than where I thought I had saved it. Just a suggestion.

Have you accidently made it a hidden file. To do a search on your hardrive you will need the name of the folder or file.

Lovely photo Enny. All I can think of is the format you saved it in might have slipped your attention and now you are looking for only formats that you are used to saving in. Can you look in that folder and search it with a list of formats that PS offers to see if you can find it? This might sound hard to figure out but if I try more explanations I will just talk in circles. I'm not that savvy as to the ways of PS. Just a guess and you don't have to answer.

Are you doing something different when you are saving your pictures?
Perhaps your 'new' saved folder is there but somewhere else on your drive.
(You could try saving your picture again and see visibily where it is putting your picture?)

Can you go into the folder and do a copy of it into your C drive and then move that back into your regular photos? Only think I can think of.....beautiful job on this portrait. I do hope that you can get it back!
