Hard to pick just one, but this may be my favorite
of our Sawtooth "fall collection" so far,
with its variety of colors in a soft fog.
Definitely our favorite curve on the Sawtooth's
fall color trails, driving throughout this
densely-wooded maples region has become a highly popular
pastime, especially during the last week of September,
when weekend traffic is especially high --
rendering landscape photography on those days
virtually impossible.
Maddeningly, this road is being logged,
and much of what we used to enjoy so much, from
one end of Honeymoon Trail to the other,
is already destroyed or bare -- who knows how long this
particular scene will exist?
I understand logging, but with vast amounts of
unvisited wilderness up here, logging these beloved
"Sunday Driving" roads feels like a crime.
