A beautiful sculpture of the ascension of Mary behind the altar at Chartres. PHOTO TIP: Here's
where a high speed lens would earn its keep in your bag! With dreadfully low ambient light levels
and no flash photography or tripods permitted, a fast lens and high ISO might help obtain a good
image of this magnificent work. Note that at ISO 1600 this image is blurred at 1/5sec even with
the use of an image stabilization lens (this was the best of a series of 5 exposures). Also note
that you are not allowed to step up onto the altar to obtain a closer view of the sculpture.
