the friendly goat

Mt Evans Colorado

I was sitting on a rock snapping away; and suddenly,
this critter was way out of focus and
I realized she was only a foot or so away from me.
I expected her to back away at any moment, but
she didn't. She moved closer and closer...too close for
photographs with my lens. I didn't sense that
she was being aggressive at all, just curious. As much
as I wanted to reach out and touch her, I refrained. I really, really
wanted to and surely could have; but, in the moment, I felt it
would be an invasion of 'wild'...
I stepped back out of her space, she came
a little closer, then turned away and casually joined
the herd. Me...well, I just stood there with my mouth open
and thanked my lucky stars I got up at 3 am to do this:)
