I remember the shadow attracted me and I shot this almost wide open to make the child (my niece) stand out from the bg. I believe the aperture was about f/4. For this shot in sunlight, exposure can be calculated manually: at f/16, the shutter is 1/ISO. I was using Panatomic-X (ASA 50), so at f/4, the shutter would have been 1/1000 which was the top speed of the Nikon F.

When I first glanced this photo, it reminded me of the photos that my grandfather took of me when I was little. The girls clothing and the style of the photo makes it look fifties not seventies. Very well captured.
