The most exciting part of the route was a descent, or should I say sleigh ride, of Andrews Glacier. I was very hesitant to glissade down Andrew's Glacier at first, because it was still early morning and the snow had not had time to fully soften. I finally made the decision to glissade the glacier (you only live once) and hope for the best. Unfortunately I did not have my ice axe, but was able to control my speed to a reasonable extent with a trekking pole. The descent was quite steep and very, very exciting.n I would estimate that the glissade was 1500 feet in one continuous slide. Very cool!
