These men are Russian forces.
Their 2 highest ranking have the plain-arms issue; they may be locals working on the Russian side.

I can see the question raised about the child, but if you look closer at the photo, the child does have an ever so slight shadow.

If you look at the way the guy on the right of the child is flanking left, while the guy on the right is flanking right.
All the guys on the left are with no risk of being in the path of the child and seem to be ambling ahead wondering what the photographer is up to.

Because the two squadron leaders are continuing along a straight path, as is usually the case, the other members of the force must negotiate around them, which makes the positioning look somewhat awkward.

With or without child, however, it makes compelling viewing. Thank you.

I hope that they didn,t rape the poor little girl. That is how Russians haveusually done in countries they occupy, specially when they're drunk.

Yes it looks like that girl isent really there she does not have a shadow and why would she still be standing there and the thing she is holding.

Is it just me or does this picture look doctored. To me it looks like the little girl has been super-imposed over the picture of the soldiers, possibly to make it a more powerful pic? I'm not sure though, anyone else seein what I'm seein?

These are Russian Troops on Patrol...you can tell by the uniform...faces...and how they have their gear...
