From the final scene of the Trinity Pageant - a celebration of the election of a local businessman, John Bingley Garland, to the House of Assembly of Newfoundland as the member for the Trinity District in 1832. He and his family returned to England the next year - no doubt because of pressure from his snooty wife, who detested Newfoundland and Newfoundlanders.
