Embu, Brazil

Embu is an old colonial town founded in the 1600's. The city centre has become known as "Embu da Artes" because many of the shops belong to resident artists and on the weekends, the streets become filled with local Brazilian artists displaying their work. On the weekdays it is very quiet. I visited it twice, once on the weekend and again on the weekend to show the difference.

Mokorino, i also come from EMBU in Kenya. The only relationship is the beauty. The Embu of Kenya looks like paradise with the snow capped Mt Kenya swaying in the background, and i hear the Brazil's Embu has the swankiest artefacts.

I am from Embu, but Embu in Kenya. I wonder if there was a relationship in the name. My town was not founded as early as the one in Brasil, but I would like to find if there was a connection.

Wasn't Brazil beautiful? I loved Embu. We ended up going back after our first visit!
